When it comes to shimmering melodies, sing-along choruses and harmonic vocals, there’s no better genre of crowd-pleasing music than quintessential British boy band vocalist Chris Johnson. Singer/Songwriter Chris can vouch for that, as the lead singer for three distinct groups over the past decade: K5, Stateside and Kaos Theory. While those acts weren’t able to garner household name status, the wealth of experience Chris gained as a musician and entertainer have left him primed for success.
By the age of 14, the talented vocalist from West Yorkshire, was also conquering the piano, guitar, vocals and performing for the likes of the Freemasons, the Rotary Club and the Duke of York himself. His ambition led to an audition for quintet K5, whose novel brand of acapella, pop and R&B impressed record industry mogels enough to send the group on the road as the U.K. warm-up act for Westlife’s 2007 arena “The Love Tour.” Chris suddenly found himself performing before tens of thousands at many of the largest venues in the U.K., including Wembley Arena, Brighton Centre, Birmingham NEC  and the Newcastle Arena. K5 also appeared on BBC-TV’s “Singing With The Enemy.”
With Stateside, Chris further polished his skills, working with the industry’s best coaches and choreographers in Florida. Back home in London, the group worked with A-list producers Steve Mac, Wayne Hector and David Howell at major recording studios in Chelsea. Unfortunately, a management gaffe short-circuited the group before they were able to demonstrate their wares.
At 18, Chris became a fourth member of Kaos Theory. That quartet amped Chris’s talent even further, with months of intense vocal training and complex dance routines, learning to sing in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian. The group performed three times a day—at radio shows, mini tours and ultimately, as a warm-up for hitmakers like Robbie Williams Lee Ryan, The Saturdays, McFly, Girls Aloud, Olly Murs and The Wanted. Without a doubt, the experience gave Chris a consummate understanding of performance.
Today, he is again stepping out as a solo performer, with the vocal talent, charisma and tools of the trade to light up the stage. His song catalog includes everything from Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, Otis Redding, Sam Cooke and The Temptations to Usher, Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Michael Buble, Billy Ocean and Lionel Richie.
Whether it’s Motown, R&B, swing or pop, Chris is a superlative master of ceremonies, tailored to meet your requirements.
